Stop Kony!

One hundred twenty-three years ago, on April 20, a man who would change the world was born: Adolf Hitler. He mobilized an army that committed atrocities that were rarely ever paralleled in history and was responsible for the deaths of millions of people including over 6 million Jews. As a result of this, an army rose up to suppress this international threat. Those that stopped Hitler were called "the greatest generation."
Now another man shakes the nations: Joseph Kony. So far, he has forced an army of children to fight for him against their own families. His army has captured young boys to add to their numbers and raped the girls they once cared for. The army itself is a victim of its own "cause."
Will this generation rise up to stop Kony? Will they work to send troops to help the African nations to stop this man whose actions demand justice? Or have we lost ourselves in our conquest for comfort? Does it not matter that these children are being forced to kill their own parents? Does it not matter that these young girls are being raped by young men that never wanted to fight?

Many will ask whether or not they can even make a difference. Many will wonder why those of us who try go so far. Many will even say that since Kony is not threatening us, he is not our problem.
However, I dare you move regardless of what others are doing. I dare you to step out for what you believe, to cry out for justice, and to help these children that cannot help themselves. I dare you to be part of a great generation.
Watch the video below, it will give you some quick pointers on how you can help. Then, think through your strengths, who you can influence and what you have been given. Use those to change the world. Let it be said that this generation was not one defined by the villains that took lives, oppressed the poor and sought evil. Rather let this generation be defined by the men, women and children that would not yield to mass murder, to apathy, and to hatred. Let this generation be defined by its desire to change the world for the better of the generations to come. Let this generation be remembered by its actions to stop men like Joseph Kony.
