Food4thought: "What's Transforming You?"

Here we are, twins, two of a kind
Here I am, radiant and beautiful
Here I am, a lot like you
But I am older, faster, and stronger
I may be younger, but I am in love
I know of love, but I prefer wealth and power
Ah, but I know love; it is captivating
Silly child, oh you'll learn one day
Or perhaps you will see it my way

C2J Weekly: "Closed Eyes, Part 1"

This is the second of a twelve-part series, "His Eyes." In this series, I'll be observing how our eyes seem to respond to the light and perhaps we may be able to get a better idea of how they should work. It is my hope that with His eyes, we will be able to see the path on which we run, thereby learning how to effectively run this race.

Thirst-Quencer: "Religions"

What do you think of Catholics? How about Mormons? Hypothetically, if you had to pick a religion to follow, factoring out biblical truth, what would you pick?
For starters, someone can say they are one thing, but actually be another. For example, I had a friend who said they didn't know if God existed, yet she called herself an atheist. After some discussion, she determined that she was really an agnostic all along, but she just didn't know she was. So by doctrinal beliefs alone, I'd say that the Protestant Church is the only group that has their theology straightened out enough. However, this does not mean that all Protestants go to heaven and no one else does. It's a little more complex than that. Some people that claim to be Catholic, but if you examine their personal views of Christ and how one gains salvation, they have actually found the light and their "Catholicism" becomes an outlet for them to bear fruit for the kingdom. This same principle can apply to other religious groups like the Mormons, but typically it's just too big of a jump from most other religions. Now allow me to back up a step an state that Christianity is hardly a religion because the focus of it is a personal relationship with the King. Now if I had to pick a different religion, I'd probably go with Buddhism because it has many of the same values that I have, as well as opportunities to serve. However, I am not one of them because I'd be living a life contrary to the things I've already learned.

Stride4stride: "To the Fathers"

Dear reader,
The hurdle is not providing a financial foundation for your beloved children, but rather a spiritual one. It is my hope that you, as a father, will receive the blessing of our Father so that you may be empowered to lead us when we cannot even stand.
Before we look at how to cross this hurdle, I'd like to take the time to thank every father for attempting in the first place to run the race of parenthood. As I am not ready for that stage of life yet, I can only see a small portion of what you must bear. Your willingness to care for your children and desire to do what is right for their sake and not your own is commendable. The long hours spent trying to provide for the family is neither in vain nor is it unrecognized by our Father in heaven.

Project America...

As it turns out, due to being sick & getting swarmed with a busy schedule, I was not able to finish this project on time. However, It seems that by now I have finished, a good number of months late. Nevertheless, should I try this project again, I'll have to consider a slightly better plan that accounts for illness or being tied up with schoolwork.
